technology - the changing landscape
There is broad consensus among businesses and professionals that computers and the internet have an extraordinary capability to manage and transmit information. It has revolutionized the trading industry, to name one in particular. In most instances, technology facilitates and streamlines key operations, and in doing so can exponentially increase productivity and profitability. And in the internet’s innate ability to democratize information and level the marketing, sales and consumer access playing fields, the 21st century’s battlefield is defined.

defining realistic expectations
Computers provide incredible capabilities, but the overall experience of using computers is fraught with possible disappointment. There will be times when your computer will not do something it seems like it should do. In some cases, the difficulty can be remedied by further study, software training, or by "work-arounds" that find another way to accomplish the same result. Sometimes however, there is simply no way to accomplish something that seems obviously necessary.
You should expect to have some system and/or network problems. Most have them sooner or later. You also may experience down time, and it may occur in less than the best of possible circumstances. Architectural, graphics and trading workstations are a complex integration of products from many sources.
