- Recommend, install, setup and/or train on appropriate leading edge online brokerage platforms. There are many choices and several criteria for making an informed decision, trade cost and routing technologies among them. Which one is appropriate for you?
- Recommend, install, setup and/or train in the utilization of appropriate real time or delayed, and/or historical data systems. Data provider prices range widely from quite modest, to extremely expensive. Is all data created equal? Which is best? It depends on several factors.
- Recommend, install, setup and/or train on appropriate leading edge charting and quote software. Explain the benefits and differences between Tradestation, Qcharts, Metastock, ErlangerQuote, Ensign, & Investor/RT among other trading software packages. Explain how to create, and use well designed, focused workspaces in the chosen software. Here too there are many choices, some of which are very expensive. Which one you need depends on your trading approach.
- Explain key elements of trading strategy and technical analysis to provide new traders a head start in beginning to effectively observe, understand, and trade financial markets.
- Find key support groups, mentors, systems, tools and educational sites that can accelerate the novice trader's progress. There are many good ones among thousands available, some with little cost (if you can find them). Which ones are they?
Trading, like any other highly evolved profession, requires time and skill to master. It is not an overnight endeavor, no matter what you've read or been told. In fact, successful traders are relatively few in number.
Making appropriate choices is key throughout the learning process. This is especially true when you are new to the markets The additional time and expense saved in avoiding excessive trade commissions, costly brokerage problems, poorly designed and/or overpriced software, and exorbitant yet run of the mill educational offerings is one part of the process of maintaining a sufficient equity base. This equity will likely be needed to successfully ride out the learning curve.
It may also be surprising that many successful, experienced traders are not technology experts, and here too, we can help.
